Weddings Beer and Flowers

Weddings Beer and Flowers

I’m alive! I haven’t posted since last Wednesday, and damn it I have a good reason. I’ve been held captive in the basement of a serial killer and only just got out this morning. Not really, but I’ve been really busy.

On Thursday, I was an extra on the film set of Kill Me Three Times, in Lancelin on arguably the hottest day in ages. I was wearing a dress, but we were banned from taking photos, and I didn’t get home til midnight, so that was a bust! I met Luke Hemsworth and Theresa Palmer, and then stood around looking like I was having fun for around a thousand years.

On Friday, I attended a friend’s wedding in the Swan Valley. I don’t know why they invited the 6 gazillion flies that wanted to sup on my eye juice, but hey, who am I to judge? I’m wearing a Banjo and Matilda dress which was very comfy – all silk and fully lined. This one isn’t for sale, I love it too much. The wedding was awesome, the bride and groom sang their vows and the Sitella winery backdrop was stunning.

Saturday, I got back to Perth in the afternoon and had a nap. When I awoke Dave and I went out for dinner to a local thai place. This dress is a disaster, it looks better in real life, but yeeesh!

Sunday was interesting. On Saturday evening I got a panicked call from a friend who had been helping with yet another friend’s wedding, which was on the Sunday. We needed to create all the flowers for the ceremony which would be at 4pm. Sunday morning, I arrived at the best man’s house, and found the place covered in flowers. Not being florists and with no time to spare, we got to work. Making the wreaths was hilarious, and if we didn’t have beer and cider in the fridge keeping us sane it would never have gotten done. Kali and I might be the first florists ever to use duct tape and safety pins to make a flower wreath. Here I am in Kali’s silk mu muu, all sweaty and unattractive after helping to set up the wedding in Kings Park. It turned out to be a great day.

Today I’m wearing a Decjuba wrap dress with a cami underneath. I’m so tired today after yesterday and last night, but, it’s holidays soon!

OK, there are literally 3 days left to donate peeps, and then I can go back to wearing jeans J Just in time for summer.
